For five years, Marina served as the South Island Facilitator for CLEAR Communications, where she honed her skills in facilitation, and coaching for professional development, a crucial element in

fostering strong relationships and successful outcomes.

 

Her dedication to professional development is further demonstrated by her 15 years as a facilitator with the New Zealand Institute of Management, where she has empowered countless individuals to reach their potential in their organisations.

In addition to her extensive experience in management, Marina has contributed to the mental health sector. As a facilitator at the Mental Health Education and Resource Centre (MHERC) for five years, she has played a role in promoting mental well-being and resilience in organisations all over New Zealand.

Entrepreneur and Innovator

A true entrepreneur at heart, Marina is the founder of RHODODIRECT, New Zealand's largest online rhododendron nursery. For 20 years, she was the face of this company with vision and dedication, providing garden enthusiasts across the country with access to a diverse range of rhododendrons. Her passion for horticulture and business acumen have made RHODODIRECT a trusted name in the industry.

Her entrepreneurial spirit extends beyond horticulture. As the founder of Thrive For Life, Marina has created an organisation dedicated to the success of students, providing them with the tools and support they need to excel in their academic and personal lives.

Leadership and Training

Marina's leadership skills are further evidenced by her role as a Master Trainer with HR Profiling Australasia. For five years, she has delivered top-tier training, helping individuals and organisations enhance their human resource practices. Her expertise in profiling and training has made her a sought-after resource in the field with organisations like KiwiRail, AMP, Total Life, Viastrada and many more using her for the professional development of their team members.

Marina is also a Blanchard Affiliate and coach and offers their full suite of training programmes both in person and virtually.

 

Community Engagement

Her love for her community and the environment led Marina to initiate the Hurunui Garden Festival, an event that celebrates the beauty of gardens and brings together people with a shared passion for horticulture. This festival not only highlights her commitment to her community but also her ability to bring ideas to life.  In 2016 the NZ Rhododendron Conference was held in the Hurunui with Marina spearheading the organisation.

Personal Life

Beyond her professional achievements, Marina is a devoted mother of three adult children and the wife of a farmer. She brings the same level of commitment, passion, and excellence to her family life as she does to her career. Balancing her roles as a mother, wife, and professional, she exemplifies the strength and dedication of women in leadership.
